Also called Horizontal sheave block, Horizontal Leading Sheave, Horizontal sheave fairlead (even it is not correct literally). Deck mounted horizontal sheave is another name because of its position on vessels. This sheave is only different from vertical sheave in structure but same location during operation, back of swivel fairlead. It can be delivered with or without a foundation as vessel need. Same as vertical type, it is also used with wire rope and can control wire/rope tension and movement for both anchors and for general mooring purposes where the vessel is tethered to bollards on the quayside.
