D type shackle is mainly used for connecting anchor and chain. The structure is much simpler than kenter shackle. Normally after installation, it can’t be removed easily because the pin was welded onto shackle. Another bolt type D shackle is also used, which can be removed conveniently during maintenance. Shackle dimension varies according to different use. When used on the end of anchor, it is called anchor shackle; and end shackle, on the end of common links.
