The anchor chain includes swivel, link, joining shackle, etc. We can't list all different anchor chains because the list is meaningless. Their main difference includes only diameter and stud. Even the structure of them is changing proportionally according to different diameters. On commercial vessels, normally each length of anchor chain is 27.5mtr, connected through kenter shackle or swivel shackle. Studless anchor chain is mainly used on relatively small ships, but stud chains are used on ocean sailing ships. When we are talking about anchor chain, we actually mean a combination of joining shackle, common link, swivel, enlarged link,etc. Their function and details will be discussed later.
